Brace yourself. Winter is coming.

Hallo meine Lieben,

Soap&Glory Hand Food: The most astonishing hand creme ever? Yess!

I the only one around here?) :/

Hello my loveliest,
it's getting obviously colder outside, so I thought I'd show you my hand care must-haves. I'm guilty of not using hand creme as much as I should but it's very important to take good care of your hands. As you get older your hands (and neck) will show signs of aging first haha

Soap&Glory Hand Food: The most astonishing hand creme ever? Yess! Definitely yes! I got this from my flatmates as a birthday present about a year ago and ever since I can't live without this hand creme! It smells good (the scent is pretty strong though), feels good and you only need to use a bit. It performs miracles on my chapped hands during winter, especially when I had to work constantly. After I read that it's Naomi Yasuda's favorite hand lotion I felt so confirmed that this is indeed the best one out there haha  Costs: ~10€.
Off Topic: Here you can find the Interview with Naomi where she says it's her fav. She's a nail pro, does nail arts for the runway models and Hollywood stars. Amazing nail artist. There a documentary of her on YT, here's the first part, in case you want to watch (GO WATCH IT)  ^.~ She also has a Twitter and Instagram

Kamill Hand&Nailcreme: This is a drugstore product and only costs about 1,50-2€. It's cheaper than Soap&Glory's but it's really good as well. I tried many hand cremes from the drug stores but this one is my favorite! Don't know if it's available outside Germany though.. If you get the chance to buy this, make sure it's the green one, the balsam one. All the other Kamill hand cremes weren't convincing to me.

Jojoba oil: My panacea. I use it mostly for my manicures. A few drops of jojoba oil in a bowl with warm water, soak your hands for a few minutes and voila your hands will feel smooth and your cuticles are soft enough to gently press them back.  I use jojobaoil constantly during winter, even without the water bath. Sometimes I even mix a few drops with my moisturizer for my face care. You skin will be provided with moisturization and is protected. The only thing I don't like is that it smells a bit like ham (Am I the only one aroung here?) =/

From time to time I treat myself with these Petitfee hand packs. I wouldn't say they are necessary for your hand care routine. It's enough to use a handcreme and oil(s). Yet, I like these "handmasks" very much, they make my hands so soft. The plastic glove is a great addition, I can still do tasks like type on the Computer when I'm using this. Have you tried something like this before? If you did, what are your thoughts? And I'd love to know what your hand care must-haves are ^.^
plastic glove outside, cotton glove on the inside

  2. This was an interesting post! I haven't seen hand masks in sweden! :D Looks funny but I guess it can bee good if the nails are dividing it self in layers (you know) and regular hand creme doesn't help. I normally don't have that problem but I know others that are more sensitive to the change in the weather.

    1. Aw glad you found it interesting. I was afraid that this post could be boring since it's the first time I did this kinda thing.
I'm usually not too sensitive to the change either but when I have to work (as a waitress, but I also do cleaning stuffs at the restaurant) my hands get really chapped so I need a bit more than a hand creme and the masks are perfect for that ^^
Btw Petitfee is a korean brand and you can buy it online. We don't have hand masks in Germany too xD

  3. Ohhhhh I loved this post! I use Almond oil instead of Jojoba oil, but I wanted to give this one a go too! Now I am sold ;) And I haven't used handmasks but they look amazing! I need one of those!

    1. Hihi makes me happy to hear that you enjoyed this post! :X
Oh, I wanted to try almond oil as well. I think natural oils are generally really good for hand/ face care. But yeah, definitely try the Jojoba oil, it's heaven, especially with warm water!

  4. I have the Soap & Glory one as well. My hands get sooooo dry, and not just in winter, so I always have several tubes of hand cream in stock :-)

  6. I am definitely not the most diligent, perhaps one of the laziest when it comes to skincare - but I am trying to change that recently. And give my skin the TLC it needs. Hehe, so you can imagine how nice it was to see and read about care products you used in this post ^.^ Ooh, so nice of your friend to have given you a great product! :D Unfortunately one that I'd pass, since the only place to get this product in Malaysia is from Sephora - a place I don't wanna go anymore. Hahaha, bad experience =.=! Hehe, maybe if I get the chance to go Europe one day, I'd definitely check this one out! Anyway, ohh hand mask! I've seen some from The Face Shop though haven't tried any. But they sure look really interesting! :) Maybe one day I'd give it a try :D

So my basic hand care stuff, cuticle oil? I'm only using the one I bought so many years ago from Sally Hansen haha!! It actually lasted me that long, but I did use sparingly. It works alright. I don't like my nails/hands being too oily so I'd usually put the cuticle oil then the handcreams. And hand creams that I used were from Crabtree & Evelyn (most were gifts from family ^.^) so far, they are not bad. I do find them moisturizing, but then again I haven't tried enough to know if it really does the job or not.
